Important note: Everyone is welcome to submit. Breast cancer is NOT a requirement to submit to this e-zine (though if you have some connections or link, we would like to know).

Narrative Nipple submission terms and conditions:

Please read the below specifications before submitting to Narrative Nipple.

Terms and conditions

Narrative Nipple accepts simultaneous submissions, but if your work is published elsewhere, please let us know. We can only accept original, unpublished work, with the exception of personal websites/anthologies/blogs where you retain the copyright and are able to legally grant the rights set out in these terms. You retain ownership of any work accepted for online, soft-copy or hard-copy publication. However, by submitting to Narrative Nipple you grant us non-exclusive, worldwide, no-charge, royalty-free use of that work.

When emailing Narrative Nipple, include your name, a short (100 word) bio, your connection to breast cancer, and any social media accounts/blogs you hold and may wish to promote.

All text of your submission should be within the body of the email. Images and illustrated narratives (graphic novels, comics, etc) will be accepted as pfd, png, jpg , doc, or docx attachments. Please submit images with a low resolution, however if accepted we will contact your for a high quality file.  Any videos submitted should be uploaded to youtube with a link provided within your email submission. Audio files will be accepted as attachments in the mp3 format. Narrative Nipple only accepts emailed submissions at this time. Please see the bottom of this document for our address.

At this moment Narrative Nipple cannot pay those whose work is accepted for publication. We apologize for our inability to recognize the contributions with a monetary payment. We will, however, endeavour to promote all contributors to this site with links back to their own projects, pages, and/or accounts.

Short stories: Fiction or non-fiction, tell us a story. We prefer to have short short stories. No longer than 3000 words, with 500 words preferred. If you think you have something extra special, we’ll consider breaking it up over several pieces (absolute max 10,000). Please paste text into email body, following your bio and word count.  Do you draw too? We’d love to see your accompanying image (see image attachment notes above).

Poetry: The form is up to you. Please do not submit more than four poems at a time. If possible, include text in the email body – otherwise see image attachments previously mentioned (above).

Real rants: Get in your two cents. No more than 300 words and no storytelling required, only a strong opinion.

Journal pages: This is where we take off the mask. Honest moments recorded, shared, exposed. Be brave and pass it along (scanned from the journal and sent as an image or PDF) or type it up if no one can read your handwriting.

At this moment: Quick clipping.  Fill in this blank: “At this moment __________.” Also let us know how you’re connected to BC, plus your social media details.

Art work:  A virtual art gallery.  Whether it’s a sloppy sketch, or a life-like painting, we want the art that has helped you through challenging moments, celebrates your success, peeks into your fears, or is a product of sudden inspiration – whatever moves you to create and is somehow (either directly or indirectly) linked to the BC journey.

Photography:  Photos are wanted and photo stories are even more welcome.  Photos should have some connection to BC, even if not a direct link. Please provide explanation if required.

Graphic novella/illustrated narrative/comic: Can you sketch your story, tell it with an image, write little captions that explain so much more? We love illustrated narrative, and would be very happy to receive interesting submissions that are somehow (directly/indirectly) linked to the BC journey. Funny, dark, mysterious, corny – you decide!

Boob jokes: Got any good ones? How about some that don’t objectify women but instead celebrate these narrative nipples? Whether you’ve got both, some, half, or none at all, if you’ve got a sense of humour, we’d love to enjoy it.

Audio: “Hello, can you hear me?”  Would your story/poem/thought best be expressed aloud? Then record it and send it along. Recordings should not be longer than 5 minutes.

Video:  Made a short film? Are you a video blogger? Feel like giving a performance? Want to talk face-to-face?  Please upload your videos to youtube and paste the link into the email body.

Please email your submissions to NarrativeNipple@gmail.com

Again, we will endeavour to respond as soon as possible.
